Ditka, an analyst for ESPN, appeared on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas and was asked about Kaepernick, who said earlier this week he has received death threats for his protest of what he calls racial inequalities and injustices taking place in America, including police-related violence.
"I think it's a problem, anybody who disrespects this country and the flag," Ditka said Friday. "If they don't like the country, they don't like our flag, get the hell out. That's what I think.

"I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity. Now, if they don't want to look for them, then you can find problems with anything, but this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. Now, If you don't work, that's a different problem."
The outspoken Ditka, who has supported Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton for president, previously called Barack Obama "the worst president we've ever had."
Other NFL players have joined Kaepernick in kneeling for the anthem, including 49ers teammate Eric Reid. Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins' players Arian Foster, Kenny Stills and Jelani Jenkins are among other players who have joined in.
